Backstory
Simon has been working in and around the video game industry for almost 30 years. He’s passionate about games, art, people, and bringing amazing creative endeavors to light via discoverability and curation. He’s also been the publisher and editor-in-chief at both GameDeveloper.com/Gamasutra and Game Developer magazine, and sits on the advisory board of the Video Game History Foundation. He was also previously most known for his role helping to shape the Independent Games Festival and Game Developers Conference for many years. He’s also the co-founder of the Independent Games Summit at GDC.
Earlier in his career, Simon designed PC and console games in the UK and Bay Area, including Looney Tunes Racing (PlayStation) & Terracide (PC), was an editor at techgeek site Slashdot, & worked with the Internet Archive on software & game archiving, helping them gain a U.S. DMCA exemption.
